Principal’s Message
We are looking forward to conference week next week and having an opportunity to visit with you and review your child’s progress thus far. Progress reports will be handed out during your conference. Please remember that school dismisses daily at 12:15pm and there is no late start Wednesday. Our PTA Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival is Friday evening and I hope to see many of you there!
Warmly, Mrs. Gann
Reminders/Notifications
Lost and Found: Our lost and found is overflowing with coats and other items. We will have it on display in the library during conference week so please take a moment to look for items belonging to your student. After conference week, we will donate any leftover items.
Rainy Weather: Rain is in the forecast and we try to hold recess outside as much as possible so students can get fresh air and movement. Please send them with a coat and shoes that will be comfortable for them to wear in the rain. If you need any assistance, please reach out to our counselor, Betsy Quay.
Assistant Principal’s Message Hello Chambers Families!
I look forward to meeting many of you at conferences this week. Please stop by and introduce yourself! I have been so fortunate to meet many of you this year, and I look forward to continuing our partnership. I hope you have an excellent conference meeting learning about your student's life here at school. I know our teachers have great things in store for you!
Attendance Update: We are focused on attendance at Chambers because we know there is a direct connection between academic success and student attendance. However, if your student is experiencing illness symptoms, please keep them at home to reduce the spread of the illness. I understand, as a parent, it is a constant battle between battling sickness and ensuring your student is at school. So, please, communicate with us, and we can partner to find the best option for your child and ensure they do not get behind in their school work.
I would like to share with you our absences and tardies from last week:
Monday; 10 Tardies (Down 1 from last week), 48 Absences (up 20 from last week), total of 58 students impacted (up 10)
Tuesday; 14 Tardies (up 1 from last week),32 Absences,(up 6 from last week) total of 46 students impacted (up 5)
Wednesday: 7 tardies (up 2 from last week), 35 Absences (up 10 from last week), total of 42 students impacted (up 4)
Thursday: 12 tardies (up 6 from last week), 42 Absences (up 21 from last week), total of 46 students impacted (up 26)
Friday: 16 tardies (no school last week), 46 Absences (no school last week), total of 62 students impacted (no school last week
Remember, breakfast is served at 7:45 AM each day, and drop off for non-breakfast eating students is at 8:00 AM. If you plan to have your student dropped off at 8:00 AM, that allows them plenty of time to walk to class and get ready for the day. I challenge all families to work on being on time and in school every day this week. How low can we get these numbers to go?
If you need support with attendance or tardiness, please contact me so we can collaborate on a solution. Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you next week!
Yours Truly, Mrs. Vaughan
Chambers Primary PTA
Trunk or Treat and Book Fair: Join us for a wild Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, October 28 from 5:30 to 7:30! The events will be walk-through style this year with trunks to treat, a DJ and carnival games in the gym, and the opening night of the Scholastic Book Fair in the library. We'll also have quiet play spaces in the library for students who seek a more controlled atmosphere. Candy or toys will be offered at each Trunk. BUT, we need your help to pull it off! We're currently seeking decorated trunks, general volunteers, and cashiers and attendants for the Book Fair. Please visit THIS SIGN UP SHEET to grab a spot today (2022 testing: Trunk or Treat, Fall Carnival and Book Fair (signupgenius.com))!
Fundraising: Today marks the last (official) day of the BelieveKids catalog sales fundraiser! Congratulations, Chambers community, on the way you show up to support your PTA and your school! We've had three successful takeovers and early returns from our catalog sales reflect that we've exceeded our expectations. We'll come back to share more info once all is totaled (and celebrate our kids and classrooms who went above and beyond!). Please stay tuned for more information on when the products shipped to school will be ready for pick up!
Book Fair: Book Fair is October 28 through November 4, and we need volunteers to help classes shop when they visit the fair during their library! This is a great opportunity to volunteer during school hours. Please visit the sign-up sheet at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d4dabaa2ea6fd0-trunk. Note: this is the sign-up sheet for both trunk or treat AND the full week of Book Fair so please scroll to the bottom. Since not all students have the funds to buy books at the upcoming school book fair, we ask you to consider donating to the "book fairy". Money will be used to buy book for kids identified by school counselors as those in need.
