Principal’s Message

It was wonderful seeing so many of you at the 3rd grade Veterans Day music performance Tuesday evening. Under Mrs. Van Soest’s leadership, the students delivered a stellar performance. Thank you to our veterans and their families for the sacrifices they have and continue to make. We appreciate you. Please take some time to read through the PTA section of the newsletter. There are some volunteer opportunities listed and we always enjoy partnering with families.

Warmly, Mrs. Gann

Assistant Principal’s Message Hello Chambers Families!

Hello Chambers Families!

Thank you to everyone that attended the Veterans Day performance. Wow! Those third graders came to perform!! I hope the three-day weekend allows your family to pause, connect and appreciate the sacrifices our Veterans make

Attendance Update: We will continue to focus on attendance at Chambers because we know there is a direct connection between academic success and student attendance. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Starting after Thanksgiving break, we will begin a Tardy Challenge that will help reinforce to students that being at school on time is vital to their success. We all know that uncomfortable feeling of running late and entering after something has started, so we want to assist in building successful habits—more information to come on that challenge next week :). If your student is experiencing illness symptoms, please keep them at home to reduce the spread of the illness. I understand, as a parent, it is a constant battle between battling sickness and ensuring your student is at school. So, please, communicate with us, and we can partner to find the best option for your child and ensure they stay caught up in their school work. If your student is absent, please get in touch with Ashley Callier, our attendance secretary, at (253) 566-5650. If you need support with attendance or tardiness, please get in touch with me so we can collaborate on a solution. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you for another week of partnering together to ensure all students are successful!

Yours Truly,

Mrs. Vaughan

● Our BelieveKids and restaurant take-overs have been a huge success and raised over $10,000 so far. Shout out to students Blaine and Maya for selling the most items of the Believe Kids Fundraiser. Delivery and pickup of the Believe Kids fundraisers are still being decided but will be the week before or after Thanksgiving. We have one more fundraiser this fall at MOD pizza on November 22. Everyone's participation in the fundraisers is so appreciated and allows us to keep doing fun activities and support the school and staff.

The weather is starting to get chilly but come hang out for a few minutes (or even longer) and meet other families that have kids that attend Chambers. This is a great time to talk with members from the PTA, about things that are going well this school year and any struggles your child may be having. Our job is to speak on behalf of your child and advocate for them, so they are getting the most out of school.

The purpose of the Science Fair is to help students with science or engineering projects. This club will meet for 2 months: Tuesdays, 2:40-3:40pm, starting Nov 29th, and running till the end of January. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in the Discovery Regional Science Fair if they want to, and they will get to share their projects at the Chambers PTA STEAM night! We need a few adults who would like to work with kids who are interested in exploring a science or engineering project this year. Adults will help kids think about what kind of science or engineering project they would like to do and work through some simple questions and procedures with the kids.
