Principal’s Message
Thank you for a wonderful week at Chambers! Many of you contributed to the daily staff appreciation events and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Our greatest joy is being able to work with your children every day. Thank you for taking some time to celebrate the important work that our teachers and support staff engage in every day.
Reminders/Notifications
Dismissal Changes: If you need to make dismissal plan changes for your student, please call the office before 2pm. We want to ensure there is enough time to communicate with your child’s teacher about the change.
Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month: May is a time to celebrate Asian Pacific Islander heritage. We have a bulletin board up in the hallway to celebrate important contributions from people in a variety of fields. Students have also been given some coloring pages to add to our bulletin. Additionally, we are featuring people in our morning announcements each Friday this month. Students are also reading a variety of books in library and learning songs in music related to this theme.
Assistant Principal’s Message
Hello Chambers families! Happy Friday! Thank you for the magical week of appreciation and support you have shown to the staff at Chambers this week. We are a thriving school because of the support and partnerships we have with our families. Thank you for thinking of us and continuing to work with all of our staff to ensure students receive the best education possible. This week during our SEL time, we are focusing on being self-managers. We are working to help students connect independent skills to succeed at school as we work to prepare them for the next grade-level handoff. Independence is an excellent skill for students to master, and I encourage you to find ways at home that can help promote independence..
As a repeated reminder, the Smarter Balanced Assessment will be coming soon! This is only for our third and fourth-grade students. Smarter Balanced Assessment Dates:
● English Language Arts: May 24 and 25
● Math: May 31 and June 1, 2023 Thank you in advance for supporting your student during this assessment window by ensuring they are at school on time during those testing days.
. As a school, we will continue to work to pursue our goal of having 95% of all students at school daily. This is in connection with the Washington State attendance laws (RCW 28A-27).
Yours Truly,
Mrs. Vaughan

Special thanks to staff appreciation organizers Michele Solomon, Yao Qian, Brittany Mahugh, Christina Martinez, Jessica Clardy, Elisha Cavanaugh, and Sherrilee Shawcroft for organizing and executing the event.
Volunteers have been in the staff room all week and every time the staff walked into the staff room – they were so excited!
